Award-winning Northern Virginia Custom AV firm details their customer service process

A well thought out and implemented home automation system can make your home more comfortable, secure and easier to manage. Designing a Smart Home technology system that will blend both the interior design aesthetics as well as the technology integration is always the ultimate goal of homeowners, interior designers, and architects alike. As home automation specialists, Encore Custom Audio Video discovers, designs, implements and supports the best technology solutions to enhance your lifestyle.
By incorporating a home automation system, you can control whole-home audio and video, lighting scenes, motorized shades, security cameras, climate control systems and a number of other integrated solutions. Home automation systems have the ability to make homes more secure, energy efficient and luxurious.  In order to achieve the best results for any home automation system, it is important to make sure your integrator, whichever integrator you choose, can achieve goals of your home automation project. The following is the Encore process…

Phase 1 – Discovery
The discovery phase of a home automation project is always the first step. It is our time to discover your needs as a client, as well as the needs of all the contractors, designers and architects involved. The AV integrator should collect all of the information necessary to start the design process for your automation system. This step is required to provide the best possible solutions, and also provide a well-thought out plan for the rest of the project.

 Phase 2 – System Design
After evaluating the scope of the project, the design phase begins. During this phase, the technology layout starts. The automation system is designed using the architect’s floor plan to engineer wiring plans, control devices, displays, equipment racks, speakers and lighting components such as switches and dimmers. This phase of the project provides Encore CAV with all the needed information to install and program the system, as well as provide you with detailed documentation about your system.

Phase 3 – Implementation
After the discovery and design phases are complete, it is time to execute the outlined plan by working in collaboration with all project craftsmen on the property. From our experience, when all of the contractors and craftsmen are working on a common goal of delivering a thought-out and planned design to the client, the finished product is nothing short of stunning.
Phase 4 – Service & Support
A complete set of as-built documentation is delivered to every client at the final project sign-off. We strive to make every customer a customer for life. By delivering as-built documentation and the programming source code to our customers, we ensure that the investment you’ll be making in your home is well protected and may be continually serviced with accuracy and diligence. We honor all manufacturers’ warranties, plus provide a 12-month workmanship warranty.
Ready to get started?
If one of the phases of the four-phase approach to home automation is lacking, the results are sure to be less than desirable. Ask for examples of their previously designed systems such as proposals or engineering documentation for reference. Make sure the home automation contractor chosen can implement and complete the four phases to home automation. Or, you can simply call Encore Custom Audio Video! We hope to hear from you soon!

What does 4K Mean to You?

Award-winning Northern Virginia custom electronics and design integration firm
demystifies the new TV technology

4K TVs are slowly coming to market in force, with more major manufacturers announcing new products all the time. The latest (and perhaps most enthusiastic) is Sony, and Encore Custom Audio Video is taking the opportunity of our latest blog to get into the (high resolution) details…

Product Spotlight: Sonos PLAYBAR

It probably goes without saying that Encore is in business because we have an unbridled passion for all things audio and visual. Few interactions are more enjoyable than simply talking up what’s new and exciting in our industry. We’ve heard a lot of chatter recently about the new PLAYBAR from Sonos, so we thought we’d take the opportunity of this blog post to take a look at this new phenomenon a little closer…

“It’s the ultimate music machine for fans.” – Variety Magazine

The biggest reason why Encore offers Sonos brand solutions is simple…because we’re fans of music and any tools that make listening to music fun and easy hold a warm place in our hearts.

With a sophisticated 9-speaker design, the PLAYBAR is surprisingly simple to set up. It syncs with other Sonos speakers wirelessly and plays all sources plugged into your HDTV (cable/SAT boxes, Blu-ray, game consoles…if it’s connected to your HDTV, PLAYBAR will play it).

PLAYBAR is also a stand-alone all-in-one Sonos player that allows you to wirelessly stream all the music on earth. The PLAYBAR can sit above or beneath your TV, on a table, or can be mounted on a wall. Whereas the initial products from Sonos were all stereo-centric, the PLAYBAR was designed to enhance your television playback like no other device on the market. After all, while TVs have gotten thinner and lighter, the sound has suffered. Not anymore.

Remember when TiVo first came on the market? Or the iPhone? The people who have had the SONOS system installed talk about it with the same kind of enthusiasm as the first consumers of those market-changing products. It’s as if they had forgotten how music and ambient sound can enhance their lives. Now that they’ve rediscovered this passion, they feel compelled to share their experience with friends and neighbors and anyone who isn’t in the know. We feel much the same.

We’ve had the opportunity to experience a diverse range of systems in our time here at Encore, and Sonos truly has a product that gets people talking. Sonos components are convenient, simple to set-up and use, and (most importantly) a lot of fun! We recommend it wholeheartedly. When industry professionals get THIS excited about a manufacturer and their products, it usually pays to listen.

Want to add a new dimension? The Sonos SUB subwoofer can be added for increased fidelity, providing incredible lows that never generate distortion from its compact package.

Anytime you want the lowdown on the latest technology advancements being launched in the home technology field, please don’t hesitate to call us at Encore! It’s very much why we’re here.
